Manage plugins
Your forum’s feature set can be extended with plugins. On managed InfoEmu forums a curated set is bundled with your instance; you turn the ones you want on from the management area.
Enable or disable a plugin
Section titled “Enable or disable a plugin”- Management area → Plugins.
- Find the plugin in the list and use Enable / Disable.
- Some plugins add their own settings page — look for it under Settings once the plugin is enabled.
The bundled plugins
Section titled “The bundled plugins”Private conversations
Section titled “Private conversations”Adds direct, private messaging between members. Members get an inbox with received, sent, drafts, and trash, an unread-message indicator in the nav, and a Message action on profiles and posts. A per-member message quota (set in Settings → Misc) keeps things sane.
Awards members automatic rank badges based on their post count. Badges appear next to a member’s posts and in their profile. You define the ranks and their thresholds under Ranks in the management area, and you can assign a custom rank manually to individual members.
Members’ portal
Section titled “Members’ portal”Adds a Portal landing page that highlights news from the forums you choose plus recent activity and board statistics. In the plugin’s settings, pick which forums feed the “news” section and how many recent topics to show.
Built-in equivalents
Section titled “Built-in equivalents”Two capabilities that used to be plugins are now part of the forum core, so you don’t need a plugin for them:
- Polls — attach a poll directly when starting or editing a topic (see Using your community).
- Reactions — emoji reactions on posts, configured under Reactions in the management area (see Structure your community).
